In the Microsoft 365 Mac version of PowerPoint, there’s no such option. Similarly, to access the developer tab in Excel on a Mac you have to turn it on under Excel / Preferences / View as you can see at the bottom of this window: On a Windows PC in PowerPoint this tab is not visible by default, you have to go to the customisation settings to turn it on via File / Options / Customize Ribbon. The developer tab allows you to run macros in a file and develop them yourself. Move over to the Mac and you’ll be able to turn on the Mac Developer tab for both Excel and Word but it simply doesn’t exist for PowerPoint.

Where do you stand now.If you’ve ever run or written a macro for PowerPoint, Excel or Word on a Windows PC you’ll probably be familiar with the Developer tab. As you can understand, this is an expensive project and we adopted a staged delivery plan - we aim to release valuable functionality to the users as soon as we are done with coding and testing"

See below couple of things I was able to find on Hunkin, Program Manager at Microsoft writes an article in October 2019 about the introduction of the ability of refreshing existing queries in Excel for MacOS. Spending a week on researching the internet learned this functionality is not - yet - available for MacOS.įrom what I have been able to learn, the newest Excel 365 does offer the option to refresh existing queries - queries created on a Windows machine, though also learned according to Microsoft this is rather "phase 1" and we should expect more to come. More or less immediately ran into issues when trying to find the Get & Transform functionality on the MacOS - it simply was not there. Recently switched over from Windows to MacOS, not knowing the versions of Excel 365 for both the OSes are not the same.
